1.) AWESOME LITTLE DRILL!!!

For its size and weight, this drill is the bomb! Your not going to drive 3" deck screws with this drill all day, although it will sink one into pine with no pilot hole. For light to medium duty, this drill/driver is great. It fits in your tool box or your tool belt, is very light for overhead work. It's battery lasts a fairl long time. I'm not throwing out my 18volt drill, but this drill does most of the work in my shop.

This is the fourth edition of my M12 family of tools. This new unit allows me to use regular drill bits and the chuck appears to lock avoiding slippage. Also the form (size) and function will be an advantage to the homeowner or pro.
I like the Milwaukee's because they have a tradesman angle unlike other brands.
3.) Does what it needs to and then some

I can't believe sometimes what this drill is capable of.
Pros:
- Will drill through pressure-treated 2X4's with a 7/8" paddle bit no problem
- Has 2nd gear for high-speed jobs like buffing
- Will drive 3" deck screws into pressure-treated without a pilot hole
- Decent battery life, but better always keep one on the charger
- Batteries and charger (not incl.) are lightweight and fit in toolbox well
- Battery meter on side
- Feels solid
- Has clutch (not as accurate as the one on the sub-compact driver though)
- Price is right
Cons:
- A little top heavy, but still a pleasure to use
- 2nd gear doesn't have much torque (maybe it could be geared a little closer to 1)
- Chuck makes a slamming noise when you abruptly stop the drill
- Ratcheting mechanism isn't strong enough to keep the chuck closed when you repeatedly start & stop the drill
- Battery must be fully (and recently) charged to deliver full torque
I use this product for work, not every single day and usually not for huge jobs. It will do the big jobs, but for really big screws, pre-drill just for good measure. It's easier to pre-drill then drive a screw in too fast and crack the lumber or bind up the drill. This drill will get into tight spaces, has the power to do what you ask it and the batteries are light.
I have this, a sub-compact driver and three batteries. The sub-compact driver I use for assembling and disassembling machines as it has a wonderful clutch on it that is very fine and accurate. Between the two tools, if I always keep a battery on the charger, I never have to stop. DOES NOT REPLACE YOUR 18 VOLT DRILL.
Bottom line: Tough enough for everyday use, but it won't do an 18 volt's job.

I like the tool except for the fact that the designers of these type tools all make the same mistake and milwaukee is no exception. They run way to slow for wood drilling or metal drilling of anything but steel.

have had this drill for a good bit. has done every thing I have tried to have it do. Get's in places where bigger drill have a problem. the only complaint have with it is the chuck has let loss a couple of times. but other then that a very good drill.

The M12 Drill performed well but as far as power it's hard to compare it to the larger and more powerful 18 volts that I have. M12s seem to be set up for quick fix it jobs around the house so don't escept them to perform like bigger and more powerful full size units.

I give 4 stars instead of 5 because of sometimes she stop running I don't know what was happend, but it back to work after we reuse its again in second.... may be some error during I did drive the drill.
Everything fine...light weight, good in narrow place, powerful...lighting in low light area...most important it would not damaged your hand wrist.
9.) Poopy and weak.

If you are looking for something to drill a few lightweight holes and drive drywall screws, it might be the tool for you. I like that it has a high speed for drilling, but it will not drive any screws of #10 x 1 1/2" or larger with any authority whatsoever even on the slow-speed, high torque setting. Not a replacement for your larger, conventional battery drill. Not even close.
10.) Little Torque

I purchased this because of the quality of other M12 Milwaukee tools I own.
This I mostly use to tap threads in holes pre-drilled ( small holes that is, sizes 8-32 to 1/4-20)
This is due to the little torque. I don't have to worry about snapping the taps, the drill Seizes up.
